I had a metal phone stand which could be angled and so forth, but when the phone wasn't on it and it was lying on the table it looked really ugly - this looks smashing even when the phone's not in situ, a nice little objet d'art. (that's an old phone in the pics as I was taking the photo with my current one, but the groove holds both and I think most phones would fit into it).
I think it might be an idea for the seller to include sticky silicone feet for a slightly higher price - I ripped the feet off my metal stand and fixed them to the base of this as it prevents sliding and increases stability, not massively necessary though, well pleased with it as it arrives.

Great item made of wood. Lighter weight than expected but does not stop this being a useful mobile phone stand. Nice to look at, with or without the phone in place which was my main reason to purchase. Did not want a metal contraption! Made a game of 'guess what this is' when all the family opened their gifts on Christmas Day! Highly recommend.
