About Wooden Ties

From a Winter Workshop to the World's Wrists

Hi, I'm Lynsey — founder of Wooden Ties and proud resident of the beautiful city of Bath, UK.

Wooden Ties started back in the 1990s almost entirely by accident. As a summer festival trader, I needed something to keep me busy through the winter months. What began as a bit of a joke in the workshop — could you actually make a tie out of wood? — turned into something far bigger than I ever imagined.

Those early wooden ties became an instant hit, and we quickly became synonymous with the UK's finest Christmas markets: Bath, Manchester, Birmingham, London Hyde Park, London Southbank, and Edinburgh.

As Seen on Dragon's Den

Word spread fast. We've been featured on TV, in national newspapers, and in magazines — and were even invited to appear on BBC's Dragon's Den. Not bad for a workshop experiment!

Jon Snow is among our fans, and our Etsy shop grew steadily throughout the year — proving that wooden ties aren't just a Christmas novelty, but a genuinely unique accessory for any occasion.

Handcrafted. Sustainable. One of a Kind.

Handcrafting wooden ties in our workshop

Today we operate three workshops and ship worldwide, 12 months a year. Every tie is handcrafted from sustainably sourced wood, meaning no two ties are ever exactly the same. That's not a marketing line — it's simply the nature of working with a natural material.

Whether you're treating yourself or searching for the perfect gift for someone who has everything, you've come to the right place.

Find Us at Christmas Markets

Every winter we pack up the workshop and take Wooden Ties on the road to some of the UK's most magical Christmas markets. Come and find us — there's nothing quite like seeing the full range in person!
